The Reno Red Cherry Casino deck is the fourth iteration of the popular line of playing cards from pure imagination projects. The original deck was available in turquoise with subsequent versions released in Black and Tahoe Blue, the later two of which I own as well. The tuck boxes of all four decks are very similar with the Blue and Red tucks being identical save for the coloration. Both are printed with nice metallic inks.
The card backs feature a white poker border that works nicely with the white swooping lines of the design, which seemingly break into the border. The metallic crimson red background of this latest deck is the same found on the cherry icons across the entire line. There’s a nice sheen to the cards that will bode well for cardistry–more on that later.
The new red cherry casino deck is almost entirely bicycle standard down to the pips, indices, coloration and courts. The older Black cherry casino deck included some more muted coloration on the cards that I actually like a bit better, but I understand the choice to go the completely standard route–especially if game play and magic are the primary goal behind the design.
